Find Your Perfect Inhale: Matching Style to Kit
Finding the perfect vape kit starts with understanding your inhalation style. The way you draw the vapour will determine the correct device, e-liquid, and coil setup for the best experience.
Mouth-to-Lung Vaping (MTL)
MTL vaping is the closest style to smoking a traditional cigarette. You draw the vapour into your mouth first, then inhale it into your lungs.
- You get a tight draw, a strong throat hit, and moderate vapour production.
- Lower powered devices such as pod kits (both open and closed systems) and vape pens. These devices use high-resistance coils (typically 0.6 to 1.8ohm, operating at 10 to 20 watts).
- Works best with thin 50/50 blends or Nicotine Salts (5mg to 20mg) for maximum nicotine satisfaction.
Restricted Direct to Lung Vaping (RDTL)
RDTL sits between MTL and DTL. The inhale is more open than MTL but still has some resistance, giving you a smoother, slightly airier draw.
- You get more vapour than MTL while keeping a noticeable throat hit. It offers a balanced experience for all-day vaping.
- Advanced pod kits with adjustable airflow, pod mods, or low-wattage sub-ohm kits. Coils generally fall between 0.4 and 0.8ohm and operate around 15 to 30W.
- Works well with balanced 60/40 or 70/30 VG/PG ratios using lower nicotine strengths (3mg to 12mg).
Direct to Lung Vaping (DTL)
DTL vaping (also called sub-ohm vaping) means inhaling vapour straight into your lungs, like taking a deep breath. It's designed for maximum vapour and flavour production
- You get a wide, airy draw, minimal throat hit, and dense clouds.
- High-powered kits, typically sub-ohm tanks paired with box mods. Coils are much lower in resistance (typically 0.15 to 0.5ohm) and operate anywhere from 40 to over 100W.
- Best used with thick High VG e-liquids (70-80 VG) and very low nicotine levels (3mg to 6mg).
