Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA Pod Kit Review: Anti-Burn Tech Tested

Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA Review (2025)

The Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA is one of the best pod kits of 2025, introducing Evolv’s DNA chipset with anti-burn technology that prevents dry hits and extends coil life. With a 1300mAh battery, 5-30W output, and versatile pod options (0.4Ω–1.2Ω), it delivers smooth flavour and reliable performance for both MTL and RDL vaping. Its standout feature is the smart temperature control that automatically cuts power when e-liquid runs low, making burnt coils a thing of the past. Perfect for beginners on auto-draw or advanced users who want customisation, the Xlim Pro 2 DNA balances ease of use with pro-level features.

Vape Superstore Verdict:

This is another winner from Oxva. The Xlim Pro 2 DNA delivers top-notch flavour and reliability. Vaping is smooth and consistent. Pods last for ages and those inclined, can really deep dive into customisation features.

Beginners shouldn’t be put off by the seeming myriad of features and jargon. This vape kit can be used on auto-draw, letting the smart DNA chipset do all the thinking for you.

The coil range is decent, giving you three options that tackle MTL and RDL vaping, and there is a 0.4ohm option on the way for high VG liquids, which will make this a true all-in-one vape device.

The Flavour Replay function seems unnecessary as the pods are so reliable anyway. However, it cannot be overstated how good the Anti-Burn feature is. It's a long-awaited life-improvement feature that has the potential to save you money and a lot of frustration.

Oxva and Evolve have eliminated the risk of burnt coils by using temperature control to shut off the device if the e-liquid runs low or if the coil gets too hot - that is a real game changer and one I’m sure we’ll be seeing in many vape kits to come.

The Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA is hands down one of the best vape kits on the market, with innovative life improvement tech, this is a worthy upgrade option and will be a memorable first vape kit.

Pros

✅ Anti-burn mode works, dry hits and burnt coils

✅ Genuinely outstanding flavour

❌ Extra functions might overwhelm beginners

Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA Pod Kit Review

We’re looking at Oxva’s latest collaboration with DNA chipset maker Evolv, which showcases a couple of new pod vape innovations; Anti-Burn and Flavour Replay.

For this review, I’ve tested a kit using two Treat Spot 100ml 50/50 shortfills, using the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods you get in the box. I’ll tell you how the kit works and how well it works. Key factors I’m looking at are ease of use, flavour and longevity (battery and coil).

This is an independent review and we are not sponsored by Oxva in any way.

First Impressions

The Xlim Pro 2 DNA feels sleek and smart right out of the box. The carbon fibre body is slim but solid. It is slightly weightier than most other kits in the range, but this gives it a premium feel. The colour screen is small but sharp and easily readable. There is enough surface customisation to keep experienced vapers happy without overwhelming newcomers, who can ignore the features and stick with inhale activation.

Setup was fast. It detected my coil instantly and set the power accordingly. The instructions recommend that you fill and wait for 8 minutes before using. You need to close the airflow halfway to achieve instant ramp up time on a mouth to lung inhale, otherwise you need to direct to lung this on a fully open airflow - that's for both the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm.

Pod Resistance Options

The Xlim Pro 2 DNA is also compatible with the full Xlim range of pods including new Oxva Xlim V3 pods.

0.6ohm - I found that I needed to close the airflow about half way in order to get the auto-draw to engage instantly. Otherwise it needs a deep inhale every time - which isn’t my style of vaping - but might not be an issue for those who favour more RDL/DTL styles of vaping.

0.8ohm - This is the perfect pod for a nice open MTL style vape. You don’t have to close the airflow off to ensure timely activation. The draw is flavourful, warm and consistent.

Neither of these pods are built for MTL as the pressure required to activate the kit means you need to DTL.

Feature Highlights

The Oxva Xlim Pro 2 is powered by Evolv’s DNA chipset - the same trusted tech behind top brands like Lost Vape and GeekVape. This upgrade brings three big changes:

  • Anti-Burn Tech - prevents dry hits and extends coil life.

  • Flavour Replay & Smart Controls - next-gen convenience features.

  • New Stainless Steel Pods - essential for advanced temperature control.

Anti-Burn Feature (DNA Chip)

Burnt coils are the bane of vapers everywhere. This kit aims to fix that with a new coil stainless steel coil design that works with the DNA chip to warn you when your e-liquid level is low or empty.

A photo showing the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA e-liquid fill line and fill pod screen
"This feature so useful as I have a tendency to chain vape, and it prevents me from overheating my coil."

How Does the Evolv DNA Chip in the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 Prevent Burnt Coils?

The Anti-Burn feature uses smart temperature control to monitor the coil 30,000 times per second. When the e-liquid runs low or the coil overheats, it cuts off power and displays a warning. This prevents dry hits and extends pod life automatically.

To my surprise, this actually works. I’ve vaped these pods until they’re virtually empty and experienced no dry hits as the kit cut off after a certain point, which alerted me that I needed to top up.

Interestingly, this also works if you chain vape: if the pod gets too hot then it switches off and you get the same ‘Fill Pod’ warning. Its makes sense as it uses temperature control to check the coil. This feature so useful as I have a tendency to chain vape, and it prevents me from overheating my coil.

Not having to constantly keep an eye on your e-liquid levels so you can vape with peace of mind that you won’t ruin a pod is an excellent quality of life upgrade. Dry hit prevention is a real winner.

Flavour Replay Feature

Flavour Replay lets you record and repeat your favourite puff. After taking a draw, pressing the heart button saves that exact power curve. Every following puff replicates the same warmth and flavour, delivering consistency without adjusting wattage manually.

To use Flavour Replay:

  1. Take a vape and then press the heart icon button.

  2. A green heart will show on the display, just under the wattage. This will map your previous draw and replay it every time you vape.

  3. To switch off the feature, press the button twice.

Flavour replay isn’t a new feature - it has existed in more advanced box mods of the past. Personally I think it's a gimmick - it works but I didn’t really use it - Oxva’s pods are really consistent and I don’t think it's necessary.

It is worth reiterating that the Anti-Burn and Flavour Replay only work with the new stainless steel pods.

Airflow

Like with most pod kits these days, there is a slider located on the side of the kit that can be adjusted to close off or open up the airflow. I found myself engaging the airflow more than I usually do. The 0.6ohm pod is very airy and only a deep direct to lung inhale induced instant activation with a fully open airflow. Even the 0.8ohm pod needed a slightly closed off airflow for a loose MTL vape. If you like taking big lungfulls of vapour then you’ll find these coils with an open airflow are more than up to the task.

Battery Life of the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA

A 1300mAh battery seems to be just under where all the top vape pods kits are. The Vaporesso XROS 5 has 1500mAh capacity. It’s a welcome upgrade from 1000mAh and pushes you into the realms all-day-vaping on one charge on the 0.8ohm pod.

That being said, if you chain vape or use the 0.6ohm pod, then you’ll need to charge the kit halfway through the day. You also really shouldn't drain your battery completely as this shortens its lifespan. So realistically, even with a bigger battery, you’ll likely be charging this kit at least twice a day, on regular use.

I like that there is a percentage readout of the battery charge on the 0.56” colour screen, and not just a bar. The screen also stays on stand-by while you vape instead of coming on every time, which I’m sure adds to the battery life.

In my experience with the kit I saw on average that the battery would drop a percentage point on the 0.6ohm pod after 3 draws and the 0.8ohm pod after 5 draws.

There is also a 1.2ohm SS pod for a true mouth-to-lung (MTL) experience, which uses considerably less power.

As with all vape kits, the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA comes with a Type-C connection and the kit includes its own USB-C charging cable. Charging from empty to full took me about 45 minutes.

FAQs about the Oxva Xlim Pro2 DNA Vape Kit

The two main differences are the Anti-Burn coil technology - which prevents firing if your pod is low on vape juice, and Flavour Replay - a button that can be pressed to record the settings of your last draw. Otherwise the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA works pretty much the same as most pod vape kits.

Yes, the Xlim Pro 2 is a good vape for beginners, using easy top refill pods and auto-draw functionality. While it has more complex functions like ‘Flavour Replay’ and wattage control, these aren’t necessary to operate the kit and can be ignored entirely if you just want a fill and vape device that tastes great.

DNA chips automatically detect your coil and set your power for you. It manages your auto-draw function and works with special sensors and new stainless steel coils to warn you when your pod is low on e-liquid. It also allows you to record your favourite draw with the touch of a button. Aside from that, DNA chip technology provides a wide range of battery safety features.

  • The Oxva Xlim Pro 2 has more cutting edge features like Anti-Burn coils and a Flavour Replay button. It is slightly more complicated to use.
  • The Vaporesso XROS 5 has less targeted power customisation - offering 3 boost settings instead - but has pods that are much easier to fill, with a clip off mouthpiece. A slightly more beginner friendly vape kit.

Both vape kits provide exceptional flavour and smooth vaping and are two of the best selling vape kits on the market.

The Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA pods are impressively durable, lasting around 10 days without noticeable loss in flavour or performance. The Anti-Burn technology plays a key role by preventing dry hits and coil burnout, helping extend pod life. While the device supports older Xlim pods, DNA features only work with the new stainless steel versions.

Reviews of the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA are overwhelmingly positive across the board. From Youtubers like Grimm Green and Mike Vapes to expert vape bloggers like Planet of the Vapes - all are impressed with the performance and flavour production.

The DNA version includes a premium Evolv DNA chipset that adds:

  • Anti-Burn: shuts down the device if the pod is empty or coil gets hot.
  • Flavour Replay: replicates the device settings of your last puff.
  • Full EScribe software: support for advanced customisation.

It supports 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm, 1.2ohm, and upcoming 0.4ohm Oxva Xlim SS Top Fill Pods. All existing Xlim V3 pods are compatible, but advanced features require the stainless steel variants.

50/50 e-liquids are best for the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA. We recommend nic salts for high nicotine strengths or 50/50 shortfills for lower 3mg nicotine levels or nicotine-free vaping.

I tested two Xlim Pro 2 DNA vapes for a week, using a 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pod, and neither of them leaked. Oxva Xlim pods are SSS-leak proof and only leak if the vape juice gets superheated through overuse or a burnt coil. This is eliminated by the Anti-Burn function, which cuts the power if the coil gets too hot.
