Product Test Date: 02/01/2026

Reviewer: David Phillips

Testing Method:

  • Duration: 7 days of continuous daily use
  • Liquids: 50/50 nic salts. Tested at 10mg and 20mg
  • Pods tested: 0.8Ω and 0.6Ω
  • Device settings: 18W on 0.8Ω | 22W on 0.6Ω
  • Leak/condensation check: Any seepage in pocket use, overnight storage
  • Airflow: 0.8Ω tested fully open for airy MTL. 0.6Ω tested at open for airy RDTL and 50% closed to mimic a tighter MTL draw and compare flavour vs restriction
  • Charging: Type-C 5V/2A via wall adapter; full charge time ~30 minutes from fully drained
  • Environment: At work and social vaping to stress-test battery life and coil performance

The upgraded Xlim Pro 3 showcases a larger battery, bigger HD screen and OXVA’s first Pulse System that promises stable flavour and vapour output. I tested the kit for a week using a variety of popular nic salts and 50/50 shortfills. Here’s what I found.

Key Takeaways:

(4.5)

  • The Xlim Pro 3 feels like the cleanest, most refined XLIM so far.

  • The big 1.05” screen is the standout upgrade. You can actually read it without squinting.

  • Battery life is strong, and fast USB-C charging makes it easy to top up and go.

  • The Pulse System helps keep the flavour steady as the battery gets low.

  • Pod pick: 0.8Ω for classic MTL nic salts. 0.6Ω for a warmer vape and a looser draw.

First Impressions

The kit measures slightly bigger than its predecessor and a touch heavier, but it feels solid in the hand. The build quality is the first thing you notice. The shell designs are really smart, and it’s clearly well made. There are carbon fibre and brushed aluminium and softcover options to choose from with tasteful colour motifs.

The Xlim Pro 3 uses the popular Xlim pod platform, including Top Fill V3 pods, so nothing has changed there if you already own a Xlim. For those who don’t, you can read more about the pods below - they’re highly rated.

The biggest visual change is the screen which is much bigger and brighter than the Pro 2 and is able to display all essential information at once. The rest of the big changes are internal.

You get a larger battery and OXVA’s Photon chipset, which introduces Pulse Vaping. This system is possibly meant to compete with the rival Vaporesso XROS series for vape consistency.

Stand Out Features

  • 1500mAh Battery

  • Colour HD Screen

  • OXVA Pulse System: Steady Flavour Upkeep

  • UniTech 2.0 Coil technology

  • Adjustable airflow slider for MTL to RDL

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Bigger 1.05” HD screen. Much easier to read at a glance than the Pro 2.
  • 1500mAh battery + 2A USB-C charging. Strong all-day battery for most people, quick charging.
  • Pulse System. Helps keep the flavour feeling steadier as the battery drops.
  • Great flavour with nic salts. Especially with the 0.8Ω pod for MTL.
  • Airflow slider actually works. Tight MTL to looser MTL / mild RDL depending on pod and settings.
  • XLIM pod compatibility. Easy upgrades if you’re already in the XLIM ecosystem.
Cons
  • Slightly bigger and heavier than the Pro 2. Still pocketable though.
  • Button clicks and menus take a minute to learn. Simple once you’ve done it, but not instantly obvious.

Battery Life

OXVA claims up to five days from the 1500mAh battery. In practice I think this will depend on how much you use the device, and your vaping style. Working for a vaping retailer means that I can vape at my desk, so I tend to chain-vape. Even then I still got a day and a half before I felt the need to plug it in, which is excellent for a compact pod kit.

Charging is also genuinely quick. It uses Type-C 5V/2A charging, and OXVA claims 80% in around 30 minutes. In my testing that claim held up. This is the kind of device you can top up during a coffee break and be back in business.

Display

The first thing to catch your eye is the display. It's 150% larger than the one on the Xlim Pro 2, that gives you an ‘all-in view’ layout, so you can see wattage, battery, resistance, puff count, and draw time without cycling through menus.

It’s not a touch screen. You use a single multi-function button to navigate with a series of clicks. It’s quick once you’ve done it twice. You can:

  • Adjust wattage in 1W increments (up to 30W)

  • Switch themes and effects

  • Lock the device

  • Power it on or off

Steady Flavour Upkeep

The Xlim Pro 3 introduces OXVA’s Intelligent Photon chipset and Pulse System for stable flavour output.

Instead of firing one continuous stream of steady power to your coil, pulse vaping delivers very fast micro-bursts. The goal is to keep the flavour and performance more consistent across the battery’s charge. That matters because the last 20% of a vapes charge can sometimes feel and taste underwhelming.

Pulse vaping works by adjusting your output as you draw to account for the battery’s lower voltage as it drains. The device ‘tops-up’ power in rapid pulses so the coil stays closer to a consistent operating temperature. That helps heat e-liquid more evenly and produces a richer, more consistent flavour.

Another potential upside is that your coil could last a bit longer because it's not bouncing between being too hot when you’re at full charge and being too cool when your battery is low.

UniTech 2.0

Vaporesso has their famous Corex Heating Tech, OXVA’s answer is UniTech 2.0. It promises 50% flavour restoration, 45% vapour production and 30% increased coil lifespan. How does that translate in real world testing?

Well in practical terms, UniTech 2.0 is about how the coil and cotton are built and how the pod manages airflow and pressure. OXVA also uses a multi-layer cotton structure and a mesh heating element. The mesh handles the flavour. The cotton and internal structure do ensure wicking consistency and leak resistance.

Real-world Testing

I ran the 0.8Ω pod mostly with 20mg nic salts and the 0.6Ω pod with 10mg salts and 50/50 shortfills.

  • The 0.8Ω pod is the easy daily driver. Smooth MTL draw, good throat hit, and strong flavour without needing high wattage.

  • The 0.6Ω pod gives you a warmer vape with more vapour. It’s ideal if you like a slightly looser draw and a bit more punch.

Pod lifespan will always vary, because e-liquid sweetness and vaping habits matter. As a rough guide, I’d expect around 5 to 10 days per pod for most people, which is in the same range as the Vaporesso XROS pods I normally use. If you vape dessert-style liquids constantly, you’ll be replacing your pods more often. Likewise if you chain-vape.

Leak resistance was flawless in my test week. I had no flooding, no gurgling and no juice leaking out the pod as well. The Top Fill design also helps, because you are not yanking out the pod every time you need a refill, which is often where small leaks begin.

Airflow

The airflow slider is located on the side of the kit. It’s tactile and simple to adjust. Fully closed, you can get a tight MTL pull that feels close to a cigarette-style draw. Fully open, it shifts into a looser MTL or RDL inhale, especially with the 0.6Ω pod.

My sweet spots:

  • 0.8Ω pod with nic salt vape juice. Airflow about 25 to 40% open for a satisfying MTL draw.

  • 0.6Ω pod with 50/50 e-liquid. Airflow about 50 to 75% open for a warmer, airier vape.

Because the device goes up to 30W, you can fine-tune it. If the flavour feels muted, increase wattage by 1 or 2W. If it feels too warm, bring it down and open airflow slightly. Tiny changes can make a difference on pod kits.

What is the difference between Xlim Pro 2 and Pro 3?

The main differences are the battery, display and price. Both kits use the same XLIM pod family, including Xlim V3 and Xlim EZ pods, so you are not locking yourself into a new pod system.

In short, the Pro 3 is the better kit if you care about battery life and screen visibility. The Pro 2 still makes sense if you want a lighter, more affordable option.

Is the OXVA Xlim Pro 3 good for beginners?

Don’t let the ‘Pro’ name trick you. This is still a beginner friendly pod kit. You don’t need to touch the wattage control or theme customisation to enjoy the main benefits. If you want it simple, you can lock the adjustment button and just use auto-draw. The smart chip automatically detects your pod resistance and activates the kit on inhale. All you have to do is fill the pod, wait a few minutes for the coil to soak, then vape. You can still enjoy the large battery life and Pulse Vaping without the learning curve.

Verdict

If you like the XLIM platform, the Xlim Pro 3 is the most polished version yet. The bigger screen is genuinely useful and the 1500mAh battery and 2A charging make it a reliable vape kit for daily use. Pulse vaping does what it says on the tin. It helps keep the vape feeling consistent as the battery drops, which is exactly when many pod kits start to drop in flavour.

If you value battery life and screen readability the Pro 3 is easily a worthy upgrade.

FAQs

Nic salts and 50/50 freebase liquids are the best match. Thicker, high-VG shortfills are usually better suited to bigger sub-ohm kits.

Start with 0.8Ω for a classic MTL draw with nic salts. Choose 0.6Ω if you want a warmer vape, more vapour, or a looser draw.

In my testing, no. The Top Fill pods and the pod structure do a good job of resisting leaks. As always, keep the pod sealed properly and do not overfill.

It depends on how sweet your e-liquid is and how heavily you vape. A realistic range is roughly 5 to 10 days per pod for most users.

Yes you can. The Pro 3 is compatible with the wider XLIM pod range, including Top Fill and EZ variants.

Use the lock function via the button clicks. Once locked, you can still use auto-draw, but you avoid accidental wattage changes in your pocket.
