Shop e-liquids by type
E-liquids come in different formats depending on your device, nicotine preference and vaping style. Some are designed for low-powered pod kits and starter kits, while others are made for higher-powered sub-ohm devices. Use the guide below to compare the main types of vape juice and find the best match for your kit.
50PG/50VG Liquid
50/50 e-liquids use an even blend of PG and VG, making them a great choice for refillable pod kits, vape pens and MTL starter kits. They are thinner than high-VG liquids, so they work well at lower power and deliver a more noticeable throat hit.
Best for higher-resistance coils around 0.8Ω and above, with nicotine strengths available for both new and regular vapers.
Nic Salts
Nic salt e-liquids are designed to deliver nicotine smoothly, even at higher strengths such as 10mg and 20mg. They are usually blended at 50PG/50VG and work best in refillable pod kits and other low-powered MTL devices.
A popular choice for disposable vape users, nic salts offer strong flavour, quick nicotine satisfaction and a smoother inhale than traditional freebase e-liquids.
High VG Liquids
High-VG e-liquids are thicker vape juices designed for sub-ohm tanks and high-powered vape kits. They produce larger clouds, a smoother inhale and work best with lower nicotine strengths.
Use high-VG liquids with sub-ohm coils, usually below 0.6Ω, and avoid using them in small pod kits as they may cause dry hits or poor coil performance.
Shortfills
Shortfills are larger bottles of nicotine-free e-liquid, usually available in 50ml or 100ml sizes with space left for a nicotine shot. They are popular with regular vapers because they offer better value per ml than smaller 10ml bottles.
Most shortfills are high-VG and are best suited to sub-ohm kits, where higher e-liquid use makes larger bottles more practical.
Bar Salts
Bar salts are nic salt e-liquids inspired by the bold fruit, ice and candy flavours made popular by disposable vapes. They are designed for refillable pod kits and MTL vaping, offering strong flavour in a 10ml bottle.
A great option if you’re switching from Elf Bar, Lost Mary or other disposable-style flavours to a refillable vape kit.
Hybrid Nicotine Liquids
Hybrid nicotine e-liquids combine freebase nicotine with nic salts, giving you a smoother inhale with a slightly stronger throat hit. They are commonly used in pod kits and MTL devices by vapers who want a balanced nicotine feel.
Choose your nicotine strength
The right nicotine strength depends on your previous smoking habits, device type and how often you vape. Higher strengths are usually better suited to low-powered pod kits and MTL vaping, while lower strengths are recommended for sub-ohm kits because they produce more vapour per puff.
As a starting point, many people switching from cigarettes choose 10mg or 20mg nic salts in a refillable pod kit. Nicotine-containing e-liquids are sold in 10ml bottles in the UK, while larger shortfills are nicotine-free and can be mixed with nic shots.
Using a low-powered pod kit? Higher strengths such as 10mg or 20mg nic salts usually feel more satisfying.
Using a sub-ohm kit? Lower strengths such as 3mg are generally recommended because these devices produce more vapour per puff.

Understand PG and VG ratios
PG and VG are the base ingredients used in e-liquid. The ratio affects throat hit, vapour production and how well the liquid works in your device. Matching the PG/VG ratio to your coil and power output helps prevent leaking, dry hits and poor flavour.
High PG (50/50)
50:50 e-liquids are thinner and work well in lower-powered pod kits, vape pens and MTL starter kits. They usually provide a more noticeable throat hit and are best suited to higher-resistance coils around 0.8Ω and above.
High VG (70%+)
High-VG e-liquids are thicker and designed for sub-ohm kits with lower-resistance coils. They produce larger clouds and a smoother inhale, but need more power to vaporise properly.
One of the most common mistakes is using a thick high-VG liquid in a small pod kit. If the coil cannot absorb the liquid quickly enough, it can cause dry hits, burnt coils or poor flavour. For pod kits, choose nic salts or 50:50 e-liquids. For sub-ohm kits, choose high-VG shortfills.
Choose your flavour
From fruit and menthol to dessert, tobacco, candy and drink-inspired blends, e-liquid flavour is where you can really personalise your vape. If you’re new to vaping, start with something familiar. If you’re switching from disposables, bar salts and fruit-ice blends will usually feel closest.
Fruit
Strawberry, blueberry, watermelon, mango and mixed berry flavours are some of the most popular choices in the UK. Light, sweet and easy to vape all day, fruit e-liquids are available across nic salts, 50:50 blends and shortfills.
Shop fruit flavours →Menthol & Mint
Cool, refreshing flavours ranging from classic mint to icy menthol. A natural choice for ex-menthol smokers and vapers who prefer a clean, crisp finish.
Shop menthol flavours →Dessert & Bakery
Custard, vanilla, caramel, doughnut and pastry-inspired blends for a richer, sweeter vape. These flavours are especially popular in shortfills and high-VG e-liquids.
Shop dessert flavours →Tobacco
Classic tobacco, Virginia, menthol tobacco and RY4-style blends for vapers who prefer a more familiar flavour. A good option if you’re switching from cigarettes and want something less sweet.
Shop tobacco flavours →Sweet & Candy
Sherbet, bubblegum, sour candy and gummy-style flavours inspired by sweets and disposable vape profiles. These are usually bold, sweet and flavour-forward.
Shop candy flavours →Drinks & Soda
Cola, lemonade, iced tea, energy drink and cocktail-inspired flavours with bright, refreshing profiles. Great for vapers who want something different from fruit or dessert blends.
Ice vs no ice
Many bar salts and disposable-style e-liquids include a cooling effect, even when "ice" or "menthol" is not shown in the flavour name. This helps recreate the fresh finish found in disposable vapes. If you prefer a warmer, non-icy vape, dessert, bakery and tobacco flavours are usually a safer choice.
How to choose the right e-liquid
Once you know your preferred flavour, nicotine strength and PG/VG ratio, there are a few final things to check before you buy. The right e-liquid should match your device, coil resistance, nicotine needs and budget.
Device compatibility
Make sure your e-liquid suits the device and coil you’re using. Pod kits and MTL coils usually work best with nic salts or 50:50 e-liquids, while sub-ohm kits are designed for high-VG shortfills.
Freebase vs Nic Salts
Nic salts feel smoother at higher strengths and are popular in pod kits. Freebase nicotine gives a stronger throat hit and is often preferred by vapers who want a feel closer to smoking.
Power output
Lower-powered pod kits produce less vapour, so higher nicotine strengths such as 10mg or 20mg are often more satisfying. Sub-ohm kits produce more vapour per puff, so lower strengths such as 3mg or 6mg are usually recommended.
Budget & bottle size
10ml e-liquids are compact and available with nicotine, while 50ml and 100ml shortfills usually offer better value per ml. Shortfills are nicotine-free but can be mixed with nic shots.
Flavour intensity
Bar salts and disposable-style e-liquids are designed to taste bold and sweet. They are a good option if you’re switching from disposables, but sweeter liquids may shorten coil life compared with lighter flavours.
Flavour rotation
Vaping the same flavour every day can make it taste less noticeable over time. Keeping two or three different flavour profiles on rotation, such as fruit, menthol and dessert, can help keep your vape tasting fresh.
