Vaporesso XROS 6 Kit Review
Design & Build Quality
The Vaporesso XROS 6 pod kit has a larger 1800mAh battery, giving it enough power to comfortably last beyond a full day of use.
According to Vaporesso’s lab testing, it can last up to five days. However, in real-life use, it is more likely to last around one to three days, depending on your vaping habits.
You will not need to plan your entire day around charging your kit; it becomes more of an occasional passing thought, especially for lighter users. If you tend to chain vape, you will naturally get less battery life from the device, but it should still comfortably last a full day. I sit somewhere between both styles, depending on stress levels, and I managed to get around two and a half days before I needed to recharge.
The 3A Type-C charging is also exceptionally impressive, taking the device to 50% in just 10 minutes. This quick-charge feature makes the larger battery capacity even more convenient, as downtime is kept to a minimum.

Display
The XROS 6 Pod Kit features a 0.88-inch TFT screen, similar to the display on the XROS 5 but with refined menu navigation. There are four power modes to choose from on the XROS 6:
-
Smart Mode - the device will automatically pick the best wattage for the recognised resistance
-
Normal Mode – allows you to adjust the wattage manually in increments
-
Power Mode – increases flavour and vapour production
-
ECO Mode – will preserve e-liquid and battery levels
The main screen difference becomes clear when using the XROS 6. It includes a 60-second Smart Prime Screen, which is a dedicated countdown interface for the new 60-second priming feature. The XROS 6 also has a quick-draw toggle, a refreshed UI, and updated animations for each power mode.
60-Second Smart Priming
The XROS 6 includes a 60-second Smart Priming function designed to make setting up a new pod quicker and easier. Once activated, a countdown appears on the device’s display while the pod is prepared for use, helping to reduce the usual waiting time before your first puff.
The feature is also available on the XROS 6 Mini, although the Mini does not have a screen to display the countdown.
Buttons
The XROS 6 features a single multifunctional side button that can be used to fire the device and navigate the menus. The button navigation is similar to the XROS 5, but this time Vaporesso has updated the multi-click controls to make navigating the pod kit feel even more seamless.
If you have previously used the XROS 5, you will notice that the number of clicks for each shortcut has been rearranged to make the device easier to use.
| Shortcut | Vaporesso XROS 5 | Vaporesso XROS 6 |
|---|---|---|
| Physical Button | Single multi-functional side button for firing and menu navigation | Single multi-functional side button for firing and menu navigation |
| 2 Clicks | Opens the theme customisation page | Opens the main internal settings menu |
| 3 Clicks | Adjusts power modes or fine-tuned wattage with a 0.4Ω pod | Adjusts power modes or fine-tuned wattage with a 0.4Ω pod |
| 4 Clicks | Opens deeper settings, including screen lock, puff reset and button toggle | Locks or unlocks the device |
| 5 Clicks | Turns the device on or off | Turns the device on or off |
In testing, I found the XROS 6 simple to use, especially when accessing the settings through the two-click menu. Moving the most frequently used features higher up the shortcut list makes a lot of sense. The four-click lock and unlock function also feels familiar if you have owned a vape before, and it made it much quicker to throw the device into my bag with confidence.
Coils & Flavour
Vaporesso is known for the quality and reliability of its coils. The XROS 6 uses Vaporesso’s latest coil technology to deliver consistent flavour and performance.
The XROS 6 keeps things straightforward. It comes with two pods, a 0.6Ω pod and a 0.8Ω pod, both featuring the latest COREX 3.0 technology. The device is also compatible with COREX 2.0 pods, which is handy if you have spare pods from earlier XROS editions.
If you are looking for more flavour and denser vapour production, the 0.6Ω pod delivers exactly that, with a more noticeable inhale and a warmer vape. On the other hand, the 0.8Ω pod is better suited to anyone who prefers a tighter, cigarette-style inhale. Having two resistance options straight out of the box is a real benefit, as it lets you decide which pod you prefer before buying replacements.
After using the XROS 6 for this review, I have to say the flavour is remarkable for a refillable pod kit. It does not feel drastically different from the XROS 5, but it does feel more controlled thanks to the addition of VENTURI airflow. The precision of the airflow makes the draw smoother than ever, and when paired with Power Mode, it delivers plenty of silky-smooth flavour
Airflow
An exciting new addition to shout about is the VENTURI airflow system, which has been crafted to make each draw smoother, less noisy and steadier. Optimised through fluid dynamics, users can expect stealth vaping when out and less resistance when taking a hit, with more flavour produced.
The VENTURI airflow gives the XROS 6 pod kit a more refined feel than a standard airflow slider. Closing it off delivers a restricted MTL (mouth-to-lung) draw, while opening it up allows more air to flow through, providing an RDTL (restricted direct-to-lung) experience, especially when using the included 0.6ohm pod.
Even though the VENTURI airflow system feels like a major upgrade, it is not technical to use and works in the same way as an ordinary airflow control. The difference is that even slight adjustments make a noticeable difference to the draw.
Who is the XROS 6 Vape Kit Best For?
The Vaporesso XROS 6 is ideal for intermediate vapers, MTL (mouth-to-lung) vapers, and nicotine users who are looking for customisable output, lasting battery power, and the new VENTURI airflow system.
The Vaporesso XROS 6 is best for:
-
Seasoned vapers: With a 0.88-inch TFT colour display, three output modes (ECO, Normal, and Power), and 30W of output, it has the features more advanced vapers are looking for.
-
MTL & RDTL vapers: The XROS 6 pod kit is suitable for MTL (mouth-to-lung) and RDTL (restricted direct-to-lung) vapers due to its compatibility with all XROS pods.
-
Vapers who live active lifestyles: As stated, Vaporesso claims the battery can last up to five days on a single charge; however, we expect closer to the three-day mark for average vapers.
-
Lovers of the XROS series: If you have had a previous XROS, you will understand just how good its pods are for flavour and longevity. Luckily, the XROS 6 has kept the same great pod compatibility.
Vaporesso XROS 6 Mini Kit Review
If the XROS 6 sounded a bit too complex for your needs, do not worry - we are not done yet. Let’s move over to the Vaporesso XROS 6 Mini Pod Kit, which may be more suitable for a beginner making the switch.
Design & Build
Weighing in at just 83.5g and measuring 106.2mm (H) x 24.55mm (W) x 14.65mm (D), the XROS 6 Mini is highly compact and lightweight to carry around. It may be small, but it is robust, as it is built from aluminium alloy. It is buttonless and screenless yet still incorporates a VENTURI airflow control on the side of the kit.
Just like the XROS 6, the Mini edition also comes in 11 colours, which consist of matte favourites as well as “jelly” options with a soft-edged see-through design. The jelly editions are my personal favourite, especially the jelly orange.
Battery Life
Vaporesso continues to step up its advancements, even with the Mini edition. In contrast to the XROS 5 Mini, the XROS 6 Mini now has a 1600mAh battery instead of a 1500mAh battery, and a plus is a plus. It also now charges via USB-C at 3A as opposed to 2A.
Vaporesso says the battery should last up to four days when fully charged, although this is highly dependent on the type of vaper you are. We would expect avid vapers to fall around the two-to-three-day mark. As there is no display, you will have to rely on a tidal battery indicator, which is straightforward.
-
1 LED light on - 0-20%
-
2 LED lights on - 20-40%
-
3 LED lights on - 40-60%
-
4 LED lights on - 60-80%
-
5 LED lights on - 80-100%
I do personally prefer seeing my battery percentage on a screen, but it is not a massive deal to go without it. More importantly, I was not caught short once when testing the kit, and that matters most.
Airflow
The XROS 5 Mini was the first device from the entire XROS range to include adjustable airflow rather than fixed output. The good news is that this has been upgraded even further with the VENTURI airflow system also found on the XROS 6.
Users can expect a 20% increase in flavour production and a 30% rise in the smoothness of each draw.
Vaping my Elux Hubba Bubba from the XROS 6 Mini had me tasting notes I had never tasted before, I had to check the e-liquid packaging to be sure I hadn’t picked up the wrong vape juice.
Who is the XROS 6 Mini Best For?
The XROS 6 Mini is great for newbies just stepping into the vaping world and for experienced vapers who are looking for a straightforward back-up kit to add to their arsenal. It combines a buttonless design with a large 1600mAh battery and the latest COREX 3.0 pods. This refillable pod kit delivers great flavour and all-day dependability without any complexity.
XROS 6 vs XROS 5: What’s Changed?
The Vaporesso XROS 6 Pod Kit does not completely change what came before. Instead, it takes the XROS 5 and improves the parts that make the biggest difference in everyday use.
The most significant differences between the pair are the bigger battery, the new VENTURI airflow system, the 60-second smart priming addition, easier menu navigation, and a more feature-rich Mini edition. If you previously owned the XROS 5, the XROS 6 will feel similar, but smoother, longer lasting, and a touch more polished.
| Feature | XROS 5 | XROS 6 | What’s Changed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battery | 1500mAh | 1800mAh | Larger battery on the XROS 6 |
| Airflow | Standard adjustable airflow | VENTURI airflow | Noise reduction and a smoother draw with VENTURI |
| Display | 0.88-inch TFT colour screen | 0.88-inch TFT colour screen | Same size, refined user interface |
| Priming | Wait 5–10 minutes, as with a standard new pod | 60-second smart priming feature | Minimum downtime when getting started |
| Controls | Multi-click controls | Easier shortcut navigation to essential features | Get to everyday essential settings with fewer clicks |
| Pods | Full XROS series compatibility | Full XROS series compatibility | Wide pod availability for both |
Overall, the XROS 6 pod kit is worth considering if you want a battery that will last longer between charges, smoother airflow, a quicker start time when using a new pod, and advanced controls.
XROS 6 vs XROS 6 Mini: Which Should You Buy?
The XROS 6 Pod Kit and the XROS 6 Mini Pod Kit both provide the same level of flavour, so the choice is heavily dependent on the amount of control you like over your kit. If you are looking for a feature-rich kit with a display, adjustable power modes, a bigger battery, and more customisation, the XROS 6 is more suited to your needs. The Mini edition is more ideal if you are in the market for a compact, easy-to-use set-up that works for everyday use.
| Choose the XROS 6 if: | Choose the XROS 6 Mini if: |
|---|---|
| You want a display and different power modes to choose from | You are looking for a buttonless, easy-to-use pod kit |
| You like to have more control over your vape kit | You prefer picking up your vape and vaping without having to change settings |
| You want the larger battery life | You want the lighter option that is easier to carry around |
| You want to choose between different resistances, with two pods included at 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω | You are happy with one included 0.6Ω pod |
| You have experience with vaping or sit somewhere in the middle | You are new to refillable pod kits or vaping in general |
XROS Pod Resistance Options Explained
Both versions of the XROS 6 are compatible with the full series of XROS COREX 2.0 and COREX 3.0 pods, allowing all vapers to choose a resistance that suits their style, flavour requirements, and vapour production.
| Pod Resistance | Best For | Vape Style |
|---|---|---|
| 0.4Ω | Warm vape with more vapour and flavour delivery | RDTL. Can be vaped with thicker, high-VG e-liquids for a cloudier vape |
| 0.6Ω | Good depth of flavour, excellent vapour production and an airier hit | RDTL / loose MTL |
| 0.8Ω | Balance of both flavour and vapour | MTL |
| 1.0Ω | Nicotine salts and users looking for a restricted draw | MTL |
| 1.2Ω | Stealth vaping. Closest to smoking a cigarette | Restricted MTL |
The XROS 6 comes with a 0.6ohm and a 0.8ohm COREX 3.0 pod, and the XROS 6 Mini includes just a single 0.6ohm pod. If you are lucky enough to have some spare pods from any of the previous XROS pod kits, they will still work in both. If you want the best flavour and efficiency, we advise pairing both kits with the COREX 3.0 pods.
Is the XROS 6 Worth the Upgrade?
The Vaporesso brand is at the top of their game in the vaping world. And these new releases will keep them at the top. The XROS 6 Series introduces the most noticeable upgrades to the XROS family that we've seen since the XROS 4 was released. The increased battery capacity alone makes an upgrade worthwhile, and the draw and flavour improvements are always welcome.
If you want a larger battery, smoother airflow, rapid pod priming, and a more user-friendly experience, the XROS 6 pod kit is well worth more than a second thought. For a smaller and easier option, the XROS 6 Mini delivers the same great flavour in a more portable pod kit.
Yes, the XROS 6 performs extremely well, but it feels more like an evolution than a major step forward.
FAQs
What is the difference between the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini?
The XROS 6 is the more advanced option, with a 0.88-inch TFT screen, adjustable power modes, button controls, and a larger 1800mAh battery. The XROS 6 Mini is smaller, lighter, buttonless, and easier to use. Choose the XROS 6 if you want more control, or the XROS 6 Mini if you want a simple inhale-activated pod kit.
Is the Vaporesso XROS 6 better than the XROS 5?
The Vaporesso XROS 6 is better than the XROS 5 in several practical areas, including battery capacity, airflow, smart priming, and menu navigation. It is not a complete redesign, but it does feel more refined. The flavour is not dramatically different, but the draw feels smoother and more controlled thanks to the VENTURI airflow system.
Should I upgrade from the XROS 5 to the XROS 6?
The XROS 6 is worth considering if you want longer battery life, smoother airflow, quicker pod setup, and a more polished user experience. It is best seen as an evolution of the XROS 5 rather than a total replacement.
What pods does the XROS 6 use?
The XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini are compatible with XROS pods using COREX 2.0 and COREX 3.0 technology. The XROS 6 comes with 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω COREX 3.0 pods, while the XROS 6 Mini includes one 0.6Ω COREX 3.0 pod. This gives users plenty of flexibility when choosing their preferred draw.
Which XROS pod resistance is best?
The best XROS pod resistance depends on how you like to vape. The 0.6Ω pod is ideal for stronger flavour, warmer vapour, and a slightly airier draw. The 0.8Ω pod is a good middle ground for MTL vaping. Higher resistances, such as 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω, are better for a tighter inhale and higher strength nic salts.
How long does the XROS 6 battery last?
The XROS 6 has a large 1800mAh battery, which can comfortably last most users a full day or longer. Vaporesso states that it can last up to five days, although real-world use will depend on how often you vape, which pod you use, and your selected power mode. Heavier users should expect to charge it more often.
How long does the XROS 6 Mini battery last?
The XROS 6 Mini has a 1600mAh battery, which is impressive for such a compact pod kit. Vaporesso states that it can last up to four days, but most regular users should expect around two to three days depending on their vaping habits. The LED battery indicator makes it easy to keep track of charge levels.
Is the XROS 6 Mini good for beginners?
Yes, the XROS 6 Mini is a strong choice for beginners. It has a buttonless design, no screen, no complicated settings, and uses inhale activation, so it feels simple from the first use. It still includes VENTURI airflow and COREX 3.0 pod technology, so beginners get strong flavour without needing to fine-tune lots of settings.
