XROS Pro 2 Review: Bigger Battery, Smoother Hits – But Is It Worth the Upgrade?

By:

Product Reviewed: Vaporesso XROS Pro 2

Product Release Date: 20th September 2025

Reviewer: David Phillips

Testing Method:

  • Duration: 7 days continuous daily use
  • Liquids: 70/30 shortfill (0.4Ω), 50/50 nic salt (0.6Ω)
  • Airflow: 50% open (0.6Ω), 75% open (0.4Ω)
  • Charging: 2A USB-C wall adapter; logged 20%→80% cycles at desk
  • Environment: Office desk (frequent short puffs), commute, and evening sofa use

When the Vaporesso XROS Pro 2 showed up claiming a beefier battery, silkier airflow, flashier display, and supercharged charging… I was sceptical.

Is it a real leap forward, or just another paint job with a fancy name?

I spent a full week running it through its paces, switching pods, rotating e-liquids, and dialing in the airflow to assess this kit's range.

Here’s what I found.

Key Takeaways:

The Vaporesso XROS Pro 2’s biggest upgrade? A serious boost in battery life, enough to last through marathon days without constant top-ups. The new Corex 3.0 pods deliver sharper flavour and smoother airflow, while the slim frame feels balanced and premium in your hand. The seamless display and single-button controls make tweaking power effortless, giving you a dialed-in experience every time.

Build & Design

Weighing just 65g, the XROS Pro 2 is 21g lighter than its predecessor, which is amazing considering the battery size has increased by 67%. The shell is constructed of magnesium alloy, which is the lightest commercially available metal and often used in aerospace applications. The kit feels compact, durable and incredibly lightweight in the hand - this is a solid vape you can take anywhere.

The new airflow slider is located on the rear of the device, allowing for easy adjustment with your thumb. It feels smooth and precise, offering a noticeable range between tight MTL and loose RDL draws.

Everything feels well crafted, from the tactile fire button to the seamless screen integration.

Display

A hidden 0.96” TFT display sits flush within the body, only visible when the device is on. It’s bright, crisp, and features six custom themes, if you want to add a bit of personality.

Quick Controls

1 Click: Fire

2 Clicks: Theme selection

3 Clicks: Power adjustment

4 Clicks: Settings

5 Clicks: Power on/off

Both the screen and fire button can be locked in the settings, so you won’t accidentally activate it in your pocket.

You can use three power presets on the 0.6ohm - 1.2ohm pods:

  • Power: Boosts vapour and flavour, but will drain the battery faster.

  • Normal: A good balance between flavour and charge.

  • Eco: Favours the battery, great for getting the most out of your battery.

Battery, Charging & Performance

The 2000mAh Mega Battery (Vaporesso, not me) is the standout feature, roughly 33% bigger than most competitors in this range.

The 2A Type-C charging gets to 80% in just 30 minutes, and the live remaining charge time counter is surprisingly handy, removing the guesswork and giving me a solid window in which to plan what I’ll do next.

In my testing, I found a 30 minute charge got me more than a day and a half of use. I consider myself a chain vaper (I vape at my desk), so getting more than a day’s worth of use from a pod kit this compact and lightweight is really impressive.

A standard feature of most Vaporesso vapes is the Axon Chipset, the brain behind your Power Presets and auto-draw function, but the Xros Pro 2 also includes Super Pulse Mode, which keeps your power output stable from full battery to nearly empty.

Why should you care? Well it means that your flavour and vapour quality won’t drop off a cliff as your battery runs out of charge. The consistent power output is also kinder to your coils too.

If you’re into tracking your usage, they’ve included Smart Puff Monitoring which lets you track your puff count on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Not something I use, but it’s insightful if you’re health curious or trying to cut down.

Vaporesso XROS Pro 2 - 0.4ohm Mesh Coil

The 0.4Ω pod is preinstalled and takes the most advantage of the 35W power output - letting you adjust your wattage in 0.5 increments, instead of using the presets. It's made for vaping 70%VG e-liquid and on testing with a high VG shortfill, this coil gives a warm, full-bodied RDL draw with plenty of vapour. The flavour is superb and cranked up to the full 35W gives you rich depth and subtlety, as well heaps of saturated sweetness.

Even with the airflow fully opened, there is a slight tightness to the draw that prevents it from being a full Direct to Lung vape.

Vaporesso XROS Pro 2 - 0.6ohm Mesh Coil

This is your spare pod and it's perfect for flavour rich bar salts, nic salts and 50/50 blends, providing an airy MTL (mouth to lung) draw. Open the airflow fully and you can enjoy a restricted direct lung (RDL) vape, but if you want something that feels more like a cigarette or disposable, then you can tighten things up by closing the airflow slightly or buying one of the higher resistance pods like the 0.8ohm or 1.0ohm.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Superb flavour from both pods
  • Best battery life in a pod kit and quick charging
  • Real-time charge timer
  • Smart power presets
  • Compatible with all XROS pods
  • High build quality
  • Ultra lightweight
Cons
  • Incremental power adjustment only works on 0.4Ω pod
  • Display isn’t as impressive as other kits in this tier

My Verdict

The Vaporesso XROS Pro 2 pod kit is a huge evolution in vape battery technology - fitting a 2000mAh battery in a 65g kit is amazing. Combined with 30 minute fast charging and the ‘time to full charge’ counter, are decent enough quality of life improvements to warrant an upgrade.

Super Pulse Mode improves the day to day vape experience, while the Corex 3.0 pods offer minor flavour enhancements. It’s just a pity that Vaporesso doesn't allow full wattage control on coils other than the 0.4ohm, and the display, whilst seamless, feels a little behind the times.

I really like the design and build of the XROS Pro 2. It’s lightweight and durable, a dependable everyday vape that travels well, lasting you ages on a single charge. Battery is a big deal for me and I’m fine with just the presets, so this is definitely one I’ll be keeping hold of.

FAQs

The Vaporesso XROS Pro 2 is a versatile refillable vape kit that has a huge battery capacity combined with an ultra lightweight design, making it a highly portable option as well as a durable one. It offers simple and advanced functionally, using inhale activation for those who just want a fill and go vape, and adjustable 35W power and airflow control for those who want a little more customisation. This kit comes with two Corex 3.0 pod options; a 0.4ohm pod capable of vaping 70% VG e-liquid and a 0.6ohm pod for high PG juices like nic salts, and is compatible with all XROS pods.

Unclip the clamshell mouthpiece to fill the pod, wait for 5 minutes then insert it into the device, and inhale. You can also press the fire button for manual control. The device automatically detects the coil resistance and adjusts power accordingly.

Yes. It’s one of the easiest kits to use, just fill, wait a few minutes, and vape. The smart chipset takes care of power settings for you.

The 2000mAh battery easily lasts 1–2 days depending on your vaping style and wattage. You can get to 80% charge in under 30 minutes.

Use high-VG (70%) liquids with the 0.4Ω pod and 50/50 or nic salts with the 0.6Ω pod for best performance.

It supports both: MTL for tight draws and RDL for a looser, airy inhale. The airflow slider lets you fine-tune it to your liking.

The XROS Pro 2 is the more advanced of the two, offering more control, a larger battery, and a better display, while the XROS 4 is smaller and simpler.
